What uBer(Singapore) is paying you per hour with their hourly Guarantee Incentives

Obviously, they got it calculated way before they offered you the job. If you are thinking you are going to make big bucks while driving on the road. Think again.

Note: Estimates are based on guarantee incentives set by uBer.

Hourly Net Earnings of Full Time Driver. (From: 7am-8pm) 

Timings of Drive:

7 – 10am: $35/hr -Gross Payout: $105.

10 – 5pm: $21/hr -Gross Payout: $147.

5 – 8pm: $27/hr -Gross Payout: $81.

Total Gross Earnings for Drive per day: $105 + $147 + $81 = $333 Gross

After deduction of uBer Commissions: 20%. Yes, they “taxed” you after they reimburse you with their guarantees.

You are left with: 0.8 * $279 = $266.40.

Taking away petrol expenses for your drive. Estimate to be around $50 if you are a conscious driver and knows where you are going.

Net Earnings for Full time Driver (w/ own car): $223.20 – $50 = $216.40.

If you use your own car to drive for uBer, your hourly earnings will be: $216.4/13hrs = $16.64/hr.

If you did not drive with your own car, you need to pay for rental of the car which amounts to $50-$60 per day.

Net Earnings for Full time uBer Driver (w/ rented car): $173.20 – $50 = $166.40.

If you did not use your own car to drive for uBer, your hourly earnings will be: $123.20/13hrs = $12.80/hr.

Hourly Net Earnings of Part Time Driver (From: 7am-1pm)

Timings of Drive:

7 -10am: $35/hr -Gross Payout: $105.

10 – 1pm: $21/hr – Gross Payout: $63.

Total Gross Earnings for Drive per day: $105 + $63 = $168 Gross

After deduction of uBer Commissions: 20%. Yes, they “taxed” you after they reimburse you with their guarantees.

You are left with: 0.8 * $168 = $134.40.

Taking away petrol expenses for your drive. Estimate to be around $30 if you are a conscious driver and knows where you are going.

Net Earnings for Part Time Driver (w/ own car): $134.40 – $30 = $104.40.

If you use your own car to drive for uBer, your hourly earnings will be: $84.40/6hrs = $17.40/hr.

If you did not drive with your own car, you need to pay for rental of the car which amounts to $32 for the few hours when you drive with their hourly rental partner smove.

Net Earnings for Full time uBer Driver (w/ rented car): $104.40 – $32 = $72.40.

If you did not use your own car to drive for uBer, your hourly earnings will be: $123.20/13hrs = $12/hr.

uBer might be a good catch for many due to its risk free guarantees and incentives that you leech on when you drive for them. Unlike driving a cab where getting customers can be pretty hard at certain days, driving for uBer gives you more assistance financially so that you never need to worry about bringing too little money back home for the day. As long as you are hardworking and are constantly hitting the roads, you will be able to get a pretty much stable income from your driving.
